Our Program
Island Children’s Montessori offers both morning classes and afternoon classes Monday through Thursday. Children attending the morning program can chose a 3 day or 4 day program. The hours for the morning program are 9:00am till 12:00pm. Parents can usually decide on which 3 days. The afternoon children attend ICMS Monday thru Thursday; 12:30 to 3:30pm. All children are welcome to add our lunch program to their schedule.
The Island Children’s Montessori School academic school year begins early to mid-September and ends mid-June. ICMS follows the Bainbridge Island School District’s academic school year calendar.
Admission to ICMS is a commitment for the entire year.
Admission Requirements
Island Children’s Montessori School welcomes all children. We do not discriminate with respect to creed, race, age or physical ability.
Children must be 2 1/2 years old to begin attending ICMS.
Children are expected to be toilet trained prior to beginning but will be accepted in pull-ups.
Children must show a willingness to cooperate with the staff and other children and be able to meet classroom expectations.
Registration and Enrollment
Registration is open in January for following school year or when an opening presents itself.
To register for enrollment, you must submit:
- A completed Application for Enrollment form
- Application form must be accompanied by the registration fee
Upon acceptance, a nonrefundable deposit of 10% of annual tuition is due. This deposit will apply to the following June’s tuition payment.
Tuition Payment Terms
Tuition is an annual charge to be paid in ten equal payments, due in its entirety regardless of absence due to illness, vacations, or any other circumstances. The payments are due the 1st of each month September through May. The 10% deposit will apply to June’s tuition payment.
ICMS accepts VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVERY and AMERICAN EXPRESS for payments.
Fun Fridays and Summer School
Occasionally, ICMS will offer additional school day on Fridays. These school days will offer some unique classroom work along with special art projects. Attendance is offered to the entire school body and will be adapted for the age of the child. Fun Fridays are a time to celebrate special seasons, holidays and upcoming events.
During the summer months, ICMS offers two weeks of special camps. These camps are a time children explore the world around them and experience fun activities and outdoor time.
Summer Camp Program and Registration will be available early March.
Music Together
Nationally recognized children’s music program “Music Together” is presented weekly by Heather Scott, a well known disciple of this program. Each student is invited to participate in this program.
